EP71: Question & Answer Session

Commentaries by Vee Jay Attri during the Book Study – Secrets of Karma

Atma namaste! How are you all keeping today? Super happy, super healthy, super strong, yes, as always! It’s a very great pleasure for me to be a part of this wonderful group. We are learning together and we are also contributing in a very mighty way to make our world a better place.

And because we are a part of this extraordinary group in blessing almost 8 billion people of the world and all sentient beings, we are generating phenomenal good karma.

So, this good karma definitely will come back to us, in the form of greater clarity, greater direction in life. Also, some of you would have experienced that many of the challenges or issues of life, they get addressed by itself rather the need for you to struggle too much.

So, that is exactly is the important manifestation of the good karma that you are generating consistently. Of course, it cannot be said everybody should be having this. At least, many of you could be experiencing it. There is always a divine timing for everything.

So, if ever you are finding the study and the group participation in the Great Invocation useful to you and that it has helped you to transform certain aspects of your life or it has given you some clarity or direction in your life, please do share!

Sharing is very important. So, you can share it in many of the WhatsApp groups that you are having. You can share it on Facebook. It is only through this kind of sharing that we can inspire more and more people to be a part of this group activity. So, do kindly share and comment!

It is not sufficient for you to say “Namaste, Namaste!” Very good but what is better, if you can slightly elaborate in context to your life that will actually inspire many people to be a part of the group activity. Our objective is to integrate many schools. It is not just about one school that is actually delivering the message.

The idea is to integrate many, many schools that includes several organizations across the planet. As of today, the problem is everybody is working as an entity, which is not bad. But then, when all of us are actually working towards making the world a better place, with lots of harmony among different spiritual groups, it is a fantastic feeling.

It is a true essence of brotherhood that among us we understand that all of us might be having different path, leading to the same destination but we can always work together and that’s exactly how your comments can help in inspiring more people from other schools to be a part of this Great Invocation.

Alright, let us take up a few questions. Questions are very important. Please do think about the subject that we are taking up and also any other subject that you want people to understand. Sometimes, you know, simple questions can trigger deeper level of understanding and help us to create greater awareness about life, about existence.

So, please do share your questions! You can send me a WhatsApp. That’s perfectly alright. Let’s take a look at today’s questions. Sometimes it may happen that I am not addressing your questions immediately. For sure, any question that you send, I will be taking it up and it could be possible that your question being so deep, I am not able to address it completely in one go.

Like for example yesterday, someone was talking about what happens after death, about rituals, about ceremonies. Still, the topic is not complete, I had just addressed a portion of the question. So, in this way, I will certainly pick up questions, answer them and then come back to the same question, to take it to another level of discussion but for sure, all questions will be addressed fully.

So, let’s take a look at the first question: “What is wrong in leading a calm and cozy life while being on a spiritual path, if one is karmically entitled to it?” Very, very good question. In his sermon this morning, he said, “leading a common cosy life is not being on the spiritual path.” A spiritual person is a happy person for sure. This has been mentioned many at times. Cozy life, I am not so sure about it.

And also, you have to remember when certain things are said, it has got a context to it. If you drop the context, then, what is said might be a little bit distorted. Nevertheless, in this particular situation, I will just like to elaborate it a little bit. You know when you have got a million rupees or a million dollars, you can choose to spend it or you can choose to invest it.

If you are a very intelligent person, you will have a balance. Part of it, you will possibly spend it and most of it you will invest. Same thing is about generating good karma. So, the good karma that you have been generating in the past, comes back to you as many material manifestations, not only material manifestations. Also, manifestations of resources that you might be a very talented person.

All this have to be deployed at least substantially, for the benefit of the mankind. So, that is exactly where we come to karmic investments. So, the good karma that you have, by way for example the material manifestation that you are a very rich person, enjoy it but also, ensure that you are investing a substantial portion of that to make the world a better place.

You can possibly support spiritual institutions or you can possibly start a movement of creating awareness to a larger audience, whichever way you find it appropriate. You can support many NGOs involved in humanitarian activities. You have to invest your karmic income in meaningful productive ways.

And also, when it comes to the spiritual path, certainly, with my experience and with the experience of several teachers that I have been working with, I can tell you that it is not a cozy life. For example my teacher, Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, he was from a very, very rich family. All through his life, he was a super rich person because his business was a flourishing business.

And not only that, the Pranic Healing and the Arhatic Yoga school that he created was also, generating substantial income but then he had never used any of the income from the Pranic Healing for his own benefit, Number one. Number 2, he was travelling almost 25 days a month extensively all over the world, to the point that his physical body collapsed.

I had not seen him resting and saying that, “Okay, I am going to be on a holiday!” That is not something that I had seen. And I have seen many, many spiritual teachers doing the same thing. And I have been on the spiritual path with mega organizations from the age of 16 – 17 and I had seen great spiritual masters working relentlessly, not sitting for a moment. I can say, 18 to 20 hours of devoting one’s life, committing one’s life for the welfare of the humanity.

So, spiritual path, when you come to the core, is a different cup of tea altogether. Sometime back, there was a discussion about a disciple, “Why should not a master be kind to a disciple?”Normally, it is not the case but there is a difference between a follower and a disciple. A disciple is already in the core level of spiritual practices, where there is no place for this kind of a cozy life.

As a follower, surely yes, why not? I have seen so many people having a beautiful balance between their material and spiritual life. There is nothing wrong in that but in this context, I was referring to the life of a disciple, which is very different from the life of a follower. I hope you understand that.

But again, absolutely there is no problem. So long as you are living a happy and comfortable life and you are able to sustain your spiritual practices, that by itself is a grand good karma. Please continue!

Alright, let us take one more question. I am just going through the WhatsApp messages that I received. I understand that at a higher dimension, it can be interpreted that a soul purposely chooses a vehicle with specific ailments, for the purpose of its evolution! This happens, many a times, in the case of great masters.

For example, I had come across the life of people like Swami Vivekananda who left his physical body, I think, at the age of 33. I know about Ramana Maharishi who had a throat cancer. I know about Swami Rama who had, I think, a bone cancer.

So, some of the great spiritual masters, just to neutralize and balance whatever residual that they have to, so that they go to the next level of whatever they need to do, they can choose this kind of a vehicle. That is another subject.

Also, the higher soul helps the incarnated soul to neutralize substantial portion of its negative karma by actually assigning a body that is full of challenges. If the physical body is not very challenging for some spiritual practitioners, life itself is very challenging.

So, in the higher dimension, when certain decisions are taken, they are not seen the way we see it at the limited material plane. It is actually seen, looking at the future and looking at several aspects the incarnated soul has to understand. So, that is exactly how in some incarnations, the incarnating soul can choose a body full of challenges, could be from birth itself.

Alright that is the first part. Second part: On the other hand, from another perspective, the soul gets, not chooses a vehicle with ailments because nature has to balance its past negative karma in this physical plane. I am referring to the story of the jailer.

“In all humility, I find these two perspectives contradictory, grateful if you could clarify during the study session.” Very beautiful question, absolutely beautiful observation. I hope I will be able to answer this question within the study session. Let us see!

Now, the story of the jailer is, very quickly, it is like this. There was a jailer who was actually torturing two prisoners. Till their death, the prisoners were having extreme spite and hatred towards the jailer. So, they died in the prison because of the torture. In another lifetime, the prisoners happened to be the parents of the jailer.

So, as per the clairvoyant observation, the hatred the prisoners had towards the jailer has bound them. Remember, that both love and hatred binds you karmically with people. If it is love, then, it is a very pleasant relationship that you will be having with people.

For example, you will come across people in your life who do so many good things to you, in supporting you in every way possible, so kind and generous in every way. You might have come across such kind of people that tells that you had given so much of love to the person, that karmically that person was bound with you to support you in another lifetime. This happens.

The extreme case is, here we are referring to a jailer, who had been so cruel. So, by virtue of his negative karma, the jailer had to take birth of a physically and mentally challenged person. So, he came to a body which is physically and mentally challenged. This is from the jailer’s perspective. Now, from the prisoner’s perspective, they have to now learn a lesson of forgiveness, learn a lesson of unconditional love.

It’s about lessons! There is no place for hatred and anger in the creation. So, from the spiritual perspective, because the prisoners had so much of anger and hatred, they have to now neutralize it by way of reflecting it with so much of unconditional love and practicing forgiveness. This happens unconsciously.

So, these two sets of people have been bound together by a common thread of karma. While the jailer had his own individual karma, the prisoners had a karma with the jailer because they have to now, practice forgiveness and express the unconditional love towards the jailer.

So, two sets of people have been bound by a common sutra of group karma and that is exactly how it is. So, remember, certain conditions of your life are not choices that are actually the choices of the Jivatma.

The higher soul, in consultation with mighty beings, including the Lords of Karma as per the teachings of the masters, decide a path for the soul on its journey in a particular lifetime. So, that is exactly how vehicles are chosen. If you want more clarification, please send me a WhatsApp.
